The next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Rock Harbor Property Owners Association will be held Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. Location is the Hood County Annex Building 1, at 1410 West Pearl Street in Granbury. Please adhere to COVID-19 regulations set by the county while in public, enclosed spaces.

The Annual Meeting of the Rock Harbor Property Owners Association (which was postponed from May 16) will be held July 18, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the Park Pavilion. At this meeting, we will consider various Park projects, confirm Board members, present various reports and Association finances. Social distancing will be required and face coverings are MANDATORY.

The Annual Meeting of the Rock Harbor Property Owners Association has been postponed from May 16 to July 18, 2020. A meeting notice and agenda will be issued prior to the meeting.

Rock Harbor Property Owners Association (RHPOA) is having a special vote on 50-year covenants that expire at the end of the month of March 2020.These are the lots that are affected by the change: FILING THREE (Revised) Lots 98 through 121: 403 through 521 Skyline DriveLots 125 through 148: 301 through 503 Onyx Drive FILING FIVE Lots 207 through 274: 2904 through 3108 Ridgecrest Drive305 through 312: Skyline Drive2802 through 3105: Rock Wood Drive If you are a property owner on these streets: Onyx, Ridgecrest, Rock Wood or Skyline, your input is needed whether or not to extend these covenants and restrictions to the lots. (The other phases do not expire.) Allowing the lapse of the covenant could result in a decrease in property value, as well as no guide to ensure and enforce basic neighborhood standards. At a community meeting on November 16, 2019, lot owners present were briefed on the impact of a recent lawsuit settlement.  Effectively, the RHPOA serves as a home owners association for Rock Harbor with authority and responsibility for Rock Harbor Park.  The association does not have authority to charge mandatory fees. Those present heard a presentation by the association’s attorney about the steps necessary to establish the authority of the RHPOA to serve as a home owners association for the entire residential development.  Those assembled agreed that this was the path to take. Per procedures prescribed by state law, a three person committee of property owners was named to explore the feasibility and then execute the steps necessary.  The committee is made up of property owners, Cliff Thomas, Lorraine Miller and Peter Mastrangelo.   First steps will be to canvass property owners to assess interest in expanding the association’s authority to…

The Board of Directors has established voluntary assessments for 2020 at the same levels as the previous “mandatory” assessments: $120 per lot for lots purchased after August 8, 2016 (and $120 for lots previously grandfathered purchased prior to that date.)   Essentially your assessments remains consistent with previous years, except that they are now voluntary.  Your continued support will enable us to continue to maintain the park and serve property owners to the standards we have been accustomed to. 

The next Community Meeting to discuss progress on expanding HOA authority will be held after the Board of Directors meeting on January 11, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Hood County Annex.

The 2020 meeting schedule of the Board of Directors has been revised.  The new schedule is as follows: Jan. 11 (rescheduled from Jan. 18)March 21May 16 (Annual Meeting)July 18Sept. 19Nov. 21 All Board meetings are held at the Hood County Annex Building 1 at 1410 West Pearle Street in Granbury.  The Annual Meeting is held at the Rock Harbor Park Pavillion at 516 Rock Harbor Drive. Meetings will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
